About Call It

A daily higher-or-lower game built on facts you can check

Call It is a simple game with a stubborn rule: every answer is a real, verifiable number. You're shown a fact — the bones in your hand, the moons of Mars, the share of Earth covered by water — and a reference figure. Your only job is to decide whether the truth is higher or lower. Easy to start, surprisingly hard to master, and you tend to walk away knowing something you didn't an hour ago.

Where the facts come from

Every fact in the game is stored in a single database, and the same database powers the articles in our Learn Something New section. We don't invent numbers. Where a fact can drift over time — populations, country counts, records — we tag it as volatile and re-verify it on a schedule. Where a fact is settled, we cite a primary or reputable source so you can check it yourself.

Why "verified" matters to us

Trivia is full of confident, wrong numbers — the kind that get repeated until everyone "knows" them. The classic 98.6°F body temperature is a good example: the real modern average is closer to 97.9°F. We'd rather show you the checked figure and the story behind it than the comfortable myth. That's the whole point of the project.
